I know that I may catch alot of flack for this but this story needs to be told. My parents was awarded custody of two of their grandchildren because my sibling was on drugs. My parents being in their mid 60s thought it best to try and find a young couple to adopt the children becaue their fear was they would die before the children were adults. But in the adoption papers it was stated it was an open adoption and they would maintain the grandparent roles in the children's lives with visitation. This was agreed between BOTH parties. The adoptee parents took the children with this understanding along with nearly $4, 000 a month in child support from my parents. The woman now refuses to allow my parents even see, speak or interact with the kids. I would understand this had they done something wrong but they haven't. Her reasoning was that my parents allowed her to stay in a room with adults. Those adults are a nurse and a professor at a college in North Carolina. Those adults are also the father and step mother to my own daughter. My niece slept in a toddler bed that was in the room; They are family.The adoptee woman is also a teacher in the schools in Monroe county Wv. She lied to my parents, takes the money every month and does not uphold her end of the adoption contract. My parents are so heartbroken and only want to see their grandchildren. What kind of person could be so cruel not only to my elderly parents but to the kids as well? She lives in your community and she teaches your children. The courts have delayed the case not for any pertinent reason, the adoptee parents are just dragging on the case to hurt my parents. Now another holiday will pass and again for the 3rd year my parents won't be able to see their babies. The girl child is physically hurting herself because she can't see her grandmother. Again, who does that to children? But, this woman HAPPILY accepts the money from my parents every month. She lives in luxury, while MY parents struggle to buy groceries. The two children, which are a boy and a girl of preteen ages sharing a room together, which I thought was illegal, because she only is in it for the money. There is so much wrong with this picture and yet, we have been powerless to change any of it. The adoptee ladies name is Ashley Mann, if she has this kind of capacity for cruelty against two small children and two elderly grandparents; what kind of person is teaching your children. It is my hope someone out there will read this, maybe have some idea of what can be done or simply put it out there what kind of person this woman REALLY is. Maybe look out for my little niece and nephew and if there is anything out of the ordinary report this woman. There is nothing more cruel and heartless than separating loved ones from eachother. My parents wish they never trusted this woman, I wish we had never met the Manns.
