Maryland has fined at least two dozen nursing homes for failing to provide information on covid-19 cases and deaths to state health officials, violating an executive order issued by Gov. Larry Hogan (R) in April. Compliance with reporting, which stood at about 50 percent before the fines began, had jumped to 98 percent by Saturday, said Fran Phillips, Maryland’s deputy secretary for public health. An inspector who arrived April 28 determined that one Baltimore facility’s lack of compliance with infection control measures warranted a classification of “immediate jeopardy, ” meaning that it “placed the health and safety of recipients in its care at risk for serious injury, serious harm, serious impairment or death, ” according to the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid.

Where were the protests about this? His death was ruled a homicide also. ALL LIVES MATTER! On a personal note, I fully support the right to peaceful assembly in support of what you believe in. Unfortunately, there is a criminal element in our society that use the deaths of others to further their own agenda of destroying/burning the property of others, looting/stealing and any other mayhem they can inflict—-who are the real criminals in those cases? By the way, medical professionals sometimes have to restrain patients, the key to not killing them is GET THEM UP so the CAN breathe.

Yeah. Whatever happened to that update by our “crack” news teams, of the total number of deaths for WV, by month, and by the previous three years; for the comparison of months — November thru end of April? That comparative analysis might offer the public proof that our state has actually been reporting accurate numbers of Covid-19 related deaths — or, maybe not. Too naive? Too apathetic? Too lazy and complacent? Too trusting? National network might be more interested.

Huntington Topix/Craigslist replacement » Re: Inside out basketball mike forbush
I'm curious to how he did this seeing as he does not have a dressing room at his facility and never have my husband or I seen him go in the restroom when anyone else is in there. This is complete lies because when kids come to the gym to practice they come already dressed and ready to get started. The only thing they change is their shoes. Shame on you for lying! Maybe you misunderstood his intentions when he ask for a phone number to get in contact with you so he could communicate practice times and dates, as they often change. Parents can stay at the gym when they practice and many often do. My husband and I are regulars there and are Christian people and if we ever thought he did anything inappropriate we would not bring our son and we drive out of our way to bring him for over a year now. Unfortunately, this sounds like petty jealousy or a woman scorn and fabricating stories and slandering someone's name is most probably illegal and this should be looked into further. Shame on you and we will pray for you. I hope you do not spread this hatefulness to your children or those who surround you on a daily basis.

Huntington Topix/Craigslist replacement » Re: I'm looking for the truth': States face criticism for COVID-19 data cover-ups
The Truth, 35% of those that contact C19 are asymptomatic. 80% of the people who died are elderly. Many have a resistance because of other colds, or coronavirus. The virus does not spread as easily on surfaces as once thought. Most C19 cases will go unreported. With the reported cases, the death rate is 0. 04% to 0. 06%. This seemed like a totally reasonable response to destroy the world economy to the tune of tens of trillions lost, businesses closed, suicides, drug and alcohol uptick, domestic dispute increases, and 36 million now on the government dole. Perfectly reasonable for what essentially was a really bad cold. Young people die of colds and flu too, rarely, but it happens. Heart disease kills million every year, why ate they still selling big macs? Cancer kills millions, why are there cigarettes still be sold? Grown men hiding in their houses, throwing their retirement down the toilet, crashing the stock market, wasting millions in food, people starving, inflation, the list goes on and on.... for a bad cold.

It sure would help for consumers to have more money to spend but we saw what happened after trying to unionize and actually earn those deserved wages: jobs just got "outsourced" and sent to where labor can be had for absurdly cheaper. Toss in automation and you'll start to see an even bigger dent in the average worker's pay. Spreading the wealth that already exists is probably the best move we have for now. We'll need a well-educated workforce where automation and slave labor can't reach. Those low-paying jobs need to go away and we all need to strive to reach higher than a living wage to serve somebody food, assemble their goods or stock their supermarket shelves. America can do better than some Capitalist crap hole where people still go without basic, inalienable rights - rights which cannot be stripped from any individual, as enshrined in our own Constitution. You know, as the journalists who are supposed to be the voice and advocates of The People — the only thing keeping you from accurate reporting — is YOU! Huntington Topix/Craigslist replacement » Re: It really hit the fan in the Democratic Party lately
Well? There is a truth, that is self evident, however the "truth" doesn't reside within an ideology, political affiliation, religious viewpoint, opinion or belief. It is an obvious fact that What ever is "true" for you is not truth to me unless it is. So individual "truth" is irrelevant. It is the common "truth" that endures. Goodness is discernible. Evil is discernible. Thus we have to make room for our minds. All of our minds. And we all, in one way or another must choose ignorance or dig into the tough challenges of discernment. In my opinion, the founding father's did as good a job at this as anyone could ever do given the limitations of humanity and our propensities. Natural law and Theology combined to entice people to explore the things that they do not know using the things that they do. Truth can be uncovered if personal responsibility makes room for correction. All that we give up in order to be right is our ability to love and be loved. In my humble (Ha! ) opinion: Love = Truth.
