The town of Chelan Falls was platted by the Brown family. Originally it was a real estate investment and when that didn't work out the family planted apples, and the town grew. The original apple shed is across the street from the new warehouse which was eventually sold to Cascadian in the 70's. The orchard was sold in the 70's and the family moved out of town. I have given tapes, pictures and cd's to the Chelan Museum if anyone is interested.

Update: I spoke w/ a kind admin woman who always helps me w/ my billing questions. Based on what we discussed it's pretty average. I also read a forum about the increases in water rates due to loans the city had to take out for water pipes or something like that. Hi everyone, So far I received my utility bill two times since I moved in. My electric seems to be average for 2 people but my water bill I'm a little concerned about. On two separate bills, my water came back $74. 70 for a 2 person household. The sewer charge is $93. 00 for each bill as well. Anyone living in McCleary WA going through something similar? Or is this just average?
