This was happening for many years before the terrible flood happened in South Eastern Kentucky last year. I have heard that the population loss for Pikeville and many other South Eastern Kentucky cities is actually much worse now though. What the crap is anybody doing to help this region? I'm originally from Pikeville, but my husband and I moved to North Carolina twelve years ago to find better paying work and to raise our future children in a safer neighborhood where most people weren't obsessed with pills, meth, stealing, fighting, and spreading lies on everybody that they knew. I'm back here in Kentucky visiting family and friends this week while I have a few days off from work. I can't believe how far downhill that this region has gone since I moved away from here. All I keep hearing about is more businesses closing, people overdosing on drugs, going to jail, or moving away, and how depressed that everybody who is still around here feels. It's heartbreaking! South Eastern Kentucky feels like a ghost region now, and it seems like nobody in Frankfort gives a big hairy rat's rear end about it! Does anybody in South Eastern Kentucky even care anymore? Really? If anybody does care around here, it's sure hard to tell it! What the flip is wrong with this place? Seriously? 🙄

2 years ago a baby died in labor and delivery due to being understaffed. It's was a crazy night and the director refused to come and help. They lost the heartbeat and actually got the baby out in under 2 minutes but why did this have to happen?

I reside in the area and someone keeps coming into my apartment. My locks have been changed once but I believe they came right back in. I have had problems with them stealing from my mail box and also from my apartment. Contacted the Feds over theft of my mail and Police over theft of household items. Why does Pike County change the trick or treat dates almost every year? Why can’t they follow the lead of all other counties in eastern ky and do it on the day October 31st falls on except for when Halloween falls on a Sunday then do it on Saturday Nights? This makes me mad every year when they do this. It ruins the holiday in my opinion. I am so sick and tired of it! It doesn’t slow the violence, vandalism and drunk drivers down having it on a school or work night if they want to do it bad enough they’ll stay out and do it. He then remarried Shelby Houston and they had one son Timothy Crigger. He had been ill for a while and when he passed no one bothered to do a obituary. It is like he never existed. I being his first wife could not stand the thoughts of no one knowing he was deceased unless I told them. I decided to put it on Hot Topix to let anyone from Sidney, Ky know he had passed away. He had many family members there. Even though we were divorced, he was still the father of my daughter Debra and I loved him. So for all those that read this and could not find an obituary, that is because his second wife evidently did not find him worthy of one But we his first family thinks he deserves to be recognized and to let his family and friends in Ky, know he is deceased.
