Thank you for your request to understand, the word Sanctification
This is where God shows you that your sins of the past are forgiven.
This is where each one of us must take what we are to God through Jesus who is the Christ.
This Jesus who was and is the Christmas Jesus paid the price for the fall of Adam in the garden, so that we could be called the who-so-evers of John 3:16
To read about this word Sanctified or sanctification, is only going to start a person on the road to repentance, go here to begin, Commonly we see the concept of sanctification in phrases like “be holy” (used 26 times in the Bible, six times in the New Testament alone (1 Cor. 1:2; Eph. 1:4; Heb. 12:14; 1 Pet. 1:15–16; Rev. 22:11).
There are great Benefits That Come With Sanctification,
Sanctification is a very large word that you may have heard at church from your pastor or Sunday school teacher. It simply means to sanctify: that is, to make holy or to set apart. When God sanctifies us, He makes us holy and sets us apart.
The word holy means to be different – to be set apart – from those around you. God wants to save us from the stain of sin; this is known as justification. When God justifies people, He puts a “righteous” stamp on them; He takes away their “sinful” label and replaces it with a “righteous” one. He cleanses them of their sin and puts a new label on them. To justify is to change something’s label from “wrong” to “right.” This is a one-time event; once God justifies a person, the “sinful” label is thrown away forever.
God also wants to save us from the power of sin; this is sanctification. Sanctification is a one-time event. It is something that takes place, in a forgiven person's life here on earth, this is not life long work the men want to replace what God does with what they have to sell you, over the rest of a Christian’s life the person only has to repent and return, to God when they fall down in sin, this is why we have revival, it is why we are to examine yourself before we take the communion..
Even though God cleanses us of our sin and takes away our “wrong” label, this does not mean that we are perfect. Sin is still present, and we still sometimes listen to it and make wrong choices. God wants us to stop listening to sin and doing what it wants us to do. God wants us to do what He tells us to do through the Bible and through His Spirit. He wants to save us from the power of sin, so that sin no longer has control over us. Sanctification is the power to say “yes” to God and “no” to sin.
At the time of justification, we are united to Christ. In Romans 6:1-14, Paul explains that if we have been united to Christ, we have also been united to him in his death and resurrection. We have died to sin and been raised to a new life. This passage teaches that we have been freed from the power of sin, enabled to live in the newness of life under the reign of grace, unified with Christ in his resurrection, and made new creatures. This passage emphasizes definitive sanctification, however Christians will always struggle against sin and fall into it this side of glory. According to 1 Corinthians 1:2, those who have been united to Christ have been sanctified, but there is still the reality that we will not be fully sanctified until glorification.
It is Christ’s righteousness that is the basis for our righteousness. “Jesus is the author of our sanctification, this is the Christmas answer in Luke 2:1-22, He was the passover lamb, for the sins of the world, in the sense that he created it for us, but he is also the ‘pioneer’ of our salvation, because he does so out of his incarnate life, death, and resurrection.” He paid for the fall in the garden, and set all of the human race free. So anyone can seek what He has for all of us in Romans 10:9-13.
When the Lord sanctified His made people, with the coming of Christ, he demands that they live a sanctified life. Once we have been saved from the sins of Adam and Eve, and we repent of what we have sinned in, and He forgives that He set us aside in sanctification, , As it was in the Old Testament (Deuteronomy 7:11), the Lord commands that we now live according to His Word. We learn to love the Lord’s Law, because He places it in our Hearts as He says in Heb. 8:1-13, as the New Covenant is lived, not out of a desire to earn God’s favor but because His Spirit has changed our hearts. The indicative must follow the imperative. In Jesus’ day, religious leaders and Pharisees were more concerned with outward holiness than they were with the main teachings of the Law of Moses (love God and love others)
The work of God’s free grace (2 Thessalonians 2:13) whereby we are renewed in the whole man after the image of God (Ephesians 4:23-24), and are enabled more and more to die unto sin, and live unto righteousness (Romans 6:4, 6; 8:1). Sinclair Ferguson notes that Christians should not focus on their own spiritual progress but focus on what Christ has accomplished in redemptive history.
The basis for our sanctification is always the Lord himself. Sanctification is not only discussed in the New Testament but is a work of the Lord’s faithfulness that is repeatedly brought to light in the Old Testament. In the New Testament the Lord sanctified His children by His grace. In the Old Testament, the Lord saved Israel from Egypt out of his loving-kindness. Deuteronomy 7:6-8reads:
Beware of any clergy who is not teaching that God requires Behavioral changes after we receive sanctification, because He does require us to change our behavior.
In the Old Testament, God told his people that their holy status should be accompanied by a change in behavior. The Israelites were to avoid ceremonial uncleanness because God had chosen them (Deuteronomy 14:21). Their status depended on their obedience (Deuteronomy 28:9). The priests were to avoid certain behaviors because they were holy (Leviticus 21:6-7). Nazirites had to change their behavior while they were set apart (Numbers 6:5).
Our election in Christ has ethical implications. Since the Holy One has called us, Christians are exhorted to “be holy in all you do” (1 Peter 1:15-16). As God’s chosen and holy people, we are to be compassionate, kind, humble, gentle and patient (Colossians 3:12). We are invited to share in the divine life not only in the future, but to participate in it now (2 Peter 1:4). If we do not want to live God’s way in this life, the danger is that we will not want it in the future, either.
Sin and impurities “are improper for God’s holy people” (Ephesians 5:3; cf. 1 Thessalonians 4:3). If people eliminate ignoble things from their lives, they will be “made holy” (2 Timothy 2:21). We should control our bodies in a way that is holy (1 Thessalonians 4:4). “Holy” is frequently linked to “blameless” (Ephesians 1:4; 5:27; 1 Thessalonians 2:10; 3:13; 5:23;
Titus 1:8); it is a life of righteousness.
Christians are “called to be holy” (1 Corinthians 1:2), “to live a holy life” (1 Thessalonians 4:7; 2 Timothy 1:9; 2 Peter 3:11). We are told to “make every effort…to be holy” (Hebrews 12:14). We are urged to be holy (Romans 12:1), told that we “are being made holy” (Hebrews 2:11; 10:14), and encouraged to continue being holy (Revelation 22:11). We are made holy by the work of Christ and the presence of the Holy Spirit in us. He changes us from the inside out.
This brief word study shows that holiness involves our behavior. God sets people apart as “holy” for the purpose that they live holy lives in Jesus Christ, both now and in eternity. We are saved so that we might produce good works and good fruit (Ephesians 2:8-10; Galatians 5:22-23). The good works are not a cause of salvation, but a result of it – when God declares us holy, we should respond by living in a holy way. Good works are evidence that a person’s faith is genuine (James 2:18). Paul speaks of the “obedience of faith” and says that faith expresses itself in love (Romans 1:5; Galatians 5:6).
Sanctification results from the supernatural presence and power of the Holy Spirit working in a Christian’s life (Galatians 5:22–26; Ephesians 3:20; 2 Corinthians 12:9–10). It requires a change of heart, an alignment of the will with God’s will. Sanctification means learning to love what God loves and value what God values, and thus sanctification goes beyond what is natural. All who-so-evers as John 3:16 already qualify for this choice to bring what they are to God so all people can be sanctified, if only they will repent, and God forgives them.
God has provided a plan for sanctification, and He alone does this for us after He forgives us, He shows us He has forgiven..
In sanctification God has promised to work through human effort and activities designed to discipline the heart. While there are forms of self-discipline that are worthless for the journey and fail to result in a holy life, there are special activities that God has promised to bless (Colossians 2:16–23). “God works to sanctify His people through their reading Scripture, hearing biblical sermons, praying and being baptized. He also works through their receiving of ordinary bread and wine during a worship service, and serving the poor, the marginalized, and anyone in need” (Colossians 3:16; 1 Corinthians 10:16).1
Through God’s sanctifying work, Christians begin to imitate Jesus and reveal characteristics consistent with His (Ephesians 5:1; 1 Corinthians 11:1; Galatians 5:22–26). This includes loving people that might feel like enemies (Matthew 5:44; Luke 6:35; Romans 12:14, 17, 20–21). Yet, even while striving to do good, Christians will fail. They will continue to struggle with harmful, evil desires and weakness of heart and body (Romans 7:15; Philippians 3:12–14; 2 Corinthians 12:7–10). The effects of sanctification in this life are real, but incomplete and imperfect. This is because the end result of sanctification is the resurrection and the fullness of new life that awaits in the next.
Scripture teaches that sanctification is God’s gift to people whom He already loves. God loves and desires all people to receive His gift of eternal life (John 3:16–17; 1 Timothy 2:4). Jesus’ entire life demonstrates God’s love and mercy to all people, especially the poor, marginalized, and outcasts of society. Jesus made a point to show love to the very people that felt the most unworthy of that love (Matthew 9:10–13, 21:31; Luke 7:34; Luke 15:2). God loves and accepts people who imagine that they are the worst kind of people (Romans 5:8). In the same way that a person becomes a Christian through God’s grace, a person becomes sanctified through grace (Galatians 3:1–5). Sanctification is God’s beautiful, transforming work in the life of His people. It’s the transforming presence and power of the Holy Spirit and offered as a gift to anyone who desires it (Luke 11:13).
Here’s a helpful way to understand our sanctification in light of our union with Christ: sanctification is part recognizing that our redemption has been accomplished by Christ, and part realizing that our redemption is being applied by the Spirit. We are in Christ by faith, and he is in us by the power of the Spirit. Scripture gives us numerous snapshots of what this looks like:
Ephesians 1:3—“In him we have every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places.”
2 Corinthians 5:17, 21—“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.... For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
Romans 8:10—“If Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness.”
Galatians 2:20—“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live,
To sanctify an object means to wash, cleanse, consecrate or set it aside for a special purpose. Sanctification is a Christian teaching about how God transforms a person, making them fit for a holy purpose. Sanctification includes a change of heart, a desire to love God and other people. It includes a change of mind, seeing the world from an honest perspective. It includes embracing the truth about life, one’s self and others. And in the future, sanctification includes a change in the body, healing and perfecting what it means to be human.
Sanctification is a particular aspect of the Christian teaching of salvation. It’s a present experience of salvation, a process of transformation. It’s an experience that happens to a person after trusting in Christ for salvation and after God’s loving acceptance of them into His family.
Sanctification is God’s gracious work that enables Christians to follow God’s moral code, to love Him, to love their neighbors and to love even their enemies as themselves.
1. Sanctification is God’s gracious work.
Grace is God’s unmerited favor. It’s His loving posture toward all people. God does not sanctify a person because they are worthy or good; God sanctifies a person because of His mercy. This means that sanctification is God’s free gift (Ephesians 2:8). Sanctification is work that the Holy Spirit initiates and sustains (Galatians 3:1–3; 5:16–18).
2. Sanctification is supernatural.
As a work of God, sanctification includes acquiring new habits, practices and thoughts. But it’s more than the natural work that a wise psychologist or counselor can accomplish in a person. Sanctification results from the supernatural presence and power of the Holy Spirit working in a Christian’s life (Galatians 5:22–26; Ephesians 3:20; 2 Corinthians 12:9–10).
This means that sanctification isn’t limited by personality, life experience or upbringing. It also means that sanctification isn’t limited to civility or obedience that involves actions without heart. It’s more.
Sanctification involves a transformation of the human person in the depths of their heart and soul. It’s more than what anyone can see or feel. It’s a mysterious, complex process that God initiates and sustains as a gift.
For almost 2, 000 years, Christian teachers and pastors have wrestled with the Bible’s various teachings, stories, histories, poems and prophecies about this transformation of the human heart, mind and body. God requires his people “to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly” with God (Micah 6:8). For Christians, “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world” (James 1:27).
The good news is that in sanctification God gives what God requires. God doesn’t just demand that Christians love and show compassion; instead, God creates a heart that loves and shows compassion. God helps Christians to mature into people who strive to do good in the world. Like a beautiful piece of art designed to bring joy, God turns His people into a masterpiece created to do good in the world (Ephesians 2:10).
Beware of men trying to do this for you.
In sanctification human beings participate in God’s work.
God sanctifies Christians (1 Thessalonians 5:23; Hebrews 5:21; Ephesians 3:16; Galatians 2:20; Colossians 1:11; John 15:4; Galatians 5:22). And human beings participate, struggle, fight, work and act. Countless passages teach that human beings are responsible to work out their sanctification (Romans 8:12–13, 12:9–10; 2 Corinthians 7:1; Galatians 5:16–23; Colossians 3:5–14; Philippians 2:12–13).
Christians aren’t passive spectators sitting on the sidelines while God does all the work to win the day. Instead, Christians are active players struggling against evil. “I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air. But I discipline my body, ” said Paul, “and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified” (1 Corinthians 9:26–27).
At its heart, sanctification is a process of self-denial and gospel renewal.
Sanctification is a process of dying and rising, of self-discipline and the renewing power of the Holy Spirit. Thus Paul can describe the Christian life in these terms: “For we who live are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh” (2 Corinthians 4:11).
Self-denial is an essential ingredient in the process of sanctification (Luke 9:23; Colossians 3:5; Ephesians 4:22). But it’s not the only ingredient. The Holy Spirit working through the gospel must birth new life out of the ashes of an old life (Romans 10:17; Philippians 3:8–11; 2 Corinthians 5:17). Being a Christian means following Jesus in death and new life (Luke 9:23; Colossians 3:1–5). Through trusting Jesus, Christians experience a part of that new life as holiness or sanctification.
Why does God want sanctification in the lives of believers, has a great answer, that will help us see the need for sanctification in our life if you are to live a life of holiness it is the only way to Holiness.
It takes Sanctification to confirm that one was forgiven, and so that forgiven person can have the power to make this human living easier.
So sanctification does this in the human world. it will call for us to do as The apostle Paul told us to set our minds on “things above, ” that is, heavenly things, not on “things on the earth, ” that is, earthly things (Colossians 3:2 ). He and other biblical authors make it clear that we need to be intentional about what is on our minds.
In Romans 12:2, we find another excellent piece of advice from the apostle Paul. He wrote that we should be “transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Romans 12:2 ). How do we do that? The same Bible verse tells us not to be “conformed to this world” (Romans 12:2 ).
We should not allow our minds to be shaped by the present world but by God’s Word. Our mindset needs to be changed. We need to let go of values and habits that don’t agree with God’s will and adopt a new mindset built upon the truth from Scripture.
Sanctification lets the truly saved person Focus Their Thoughts on the Right Things.
Paul’s exhortation in Philippians 4:8 teaches us to be very selective with what should occupy our thoughts. This Bible verse tells us to think about things that are:
True
Honest
Just
Pure
Lovely
Admirable
Virtuous
Worthy of praise
If something doesn’t fit any of these categories, we should not allow it into our thought life.
Sanctified people are God’ People who know they are forgiven, and have their rest in the Lord, those who God gave them the power to make Holy Living Easier.
His work in us Prepares Us For Every Good Work.
Makes It Easy To Overcome Sinful Habits.
Brings About The New Nature.
Makes It Easy To Love God Wholeheartedly.
Makes You Easily Love Others Selflessly.
Produces The Purity Of Heart.
Brings About The New Life.
Makes Obedience To God’s Word Easier.
Makes You Heaven-Ready. Make us who God says we are.
If we want to produce real change in our minds and hearts, we need God’s help. He is the One that can help us desire and pursue change (Philippians 2:13). No matter how hard we try on our own, we won’t be able to overcome our sinful human nature without God working in us through His Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:16-17).
Saved people have been given the choice of obedience to God so they then can Let the Holy Spirit Be their Helper
The Holy Spirit dwells in every child of God (John 14:17). He will help us keep our minds on heavenly things in many ways, such as:
Teaching us and reminding us of the words of Christ Jesus (John 14:26).
Leading us (Romans 8:14).
Assuring us that we are children of God (Romans 8:16).
Interceding for us (Romans 8:26).
Guiding us into all truth (John 16:13).
Empowering us (Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:11).
And much more! Ask the Holy Spirit to be your helper, to help you discern and seek the important things (John 14:16).
Sin is a Choice, this choice to Resist the Devil, is to the human flesh, as long as we are human we can sin, and sin will take anyone from God, Sin took Angles out of Heaven, and it will take any human out away from God.
This is what the apostle James told us to do. By resisting the devil, he will flee from us (James 4:7). To resist means to oppose, to withstand against him. We resist the devil as Jesus did: through prayer, fasting, and God’s Word (Luke 4:1-13).
We need to be aware of the enemy’s strategies so we don’t fall into his traps (2 Corinthians 2:11; 1 Peter 5:8). Since this battle occurs mostly in our minds, we need to resist the devil so that we can focus our minds on the things of God.
Our repentance and God’s Forgiveness, makes it possible to Put on the Full Armor of God
That is a known illustration Paul used to advise us in our fight against the evil one and its army (Ephesians 6:10-17). The components of the armor of God are:
Belt of truth: to fight the devil’s lies.
Breastplate of righteousness: Jesus’s righteousness (not ours! ) protects our hearts from the devil’s attacks.
Shoes of the gospel of peace: to stand firm and advance into the enemy’s territory to proclaim the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Shield of faith: to extinguish the attacks by the enemy.
Helmet of salvation: to protect our minds.
Sword of the Spirit: this is the Word of God, which is our weapon of defense and attack (Matthew 4:3-11).
Keep in mind that prayer is a key element in the battle (Ephesians 6:18).
The flesh will have to Guard Your Heart, against false clergy, and the devil.
What does that expression from Proverbs 4:23 mean? In biblical terms, the “heart” is the center of the will, thoughts, feelings, and desires. Nowadays, we say those things are in our minds. So, that expression means that we need to protect our minds from worldly things. Exposing ourselves to ungodly things that ignite our temptations can cause us to sin (Matthew 26:41; James 1:14-16; 1 John 2:15-17).
God has us who are truly sanctified Let Go of our Old Self, and gives us the power to do it.
In Ephesians 4:20-23, Paul tells us to put off our old self (our sinful nature) and put on our new self (the new creation Paul talks about in 2 Corinthians 5:17). This illustration reminds us of a person changing clothes. Paul urges us to let go of our fallen nature, with its evil desires and worldly lusts, and embrace our new holy nature. It all begins in our minds by letting go of worldly thoughts and actions that lead us to sin and pursuing holiness (1 Peter 1:14-16).
Saved and sanctified people seek to Learn to Discern What Is Temporary from What Is Eternal.
Everything in this world is temporary; it all belongs to a creation that will be renewed in the end (Revelation 21:1). We need to keep that in mind and understand that what really matters are the eternal things (2 Corinthians 4:18). We should set our minds and energy into making an eternal impact with our lives, not living for the things of the world. Our lives must be dedicated to God and the things that please Him.
Saved people Get to See the World from God’s Perspective
That helps us deconstruct the lies the world taught us our entire lives. It starts by observing how Jesus and the apostles lived. Read the New Testament, so we can understand what the New Covenant is all about, Jer.31:31- Heb. 8:1-13 and. Through this we can pay attention, and have answers to these questions: the apostles
What occupied their time?
What were their priorities?
What mattered to them?
How did they relate to the things of this world?
For example, in the episode of Jesus’s temptation, we see the Lord refusing things of this earth, like food, riches, and power, in order to obey God’s Word (Luke 4:1-13). The Kingdom of God was His priority over whatever the devil could offer Him from the things of earth. His was a heavenly perspective.
Repentance, and God;s forgiveness Let Love Be Your Motivation
Paul begins the well-known chapter about love in 1 Corinthians chapter 13 by saying that everything we say, do, and give must be out of love; otherwise, it all comes down to nothing (1 Corinthians 13:1-3). God’s love must dwell in us, through the Holy Spirit, so our love for Him and others will be the driving force for what we think and do (1 Corinthians 16:14).
Seek the Presence of God in our Life’s will to begin the work of the Lord in anyone, just as John 3:15-17 says it will.
You cannot do it alone. But the good news is that God is with you (Isaiah 41:10). This assurance helps us focus on what matters, on the things of heaven. We don’t depend upon our own strength; we depend upon God! So, when you feel weak, when your mind slips into negative thoughts, remember that God is there with you, even if it doesn’t seem so.
The sanctified person may not be the great one on earth but they have Him to show the way, so we should just say Lord I don't know how to keep food on my table so if You show me, they will Seek God’s Wisdom.
We need God’s wisdom to help us focus our minds and hearts on the things of the Kingdom of God. Here are some suggestions to help you seek wisdom from God:
Be humble and acknowledge you need it (Proverbs 3:7, 18:15).
Know that all wisdom comes from God (Proverbs 2:6).
Study the Bible. Start by meditating on Jesus’s life in the New Testament and the book of Proverbs in the Old Testament.
Pray and ask God to give you wisdom (James 1:5).
Welcome advice from more experienced followers of Jesus and learn from those who belong to the body of Christ (Proverbs 19:20; Colossians 3:16).
Make Prayer will be a Daily Habit for the saved person.
Scripture teaches us everything we need to know about God and His will so we can live a new life. It shows us the good things that should occupy our minds to pursue holiness. That’s why we must have quality time on a daily basis meditating in the Bible and praying to the Lord, asking Him to help us put what we are learning into practice (Joshua 1:8; Psalm 1:2; Matthew 6:6).
The power of God gives us what we need to take the devil out of the show, so use Bible Verses, to do so.
Committing excerpts from the Word of God to your memory is a great way to keep your mind on heavenly things. The first step is to select verses from Scripture that will help you remember what God has done for you, who He is, and the promises He gave to all of us. Use memorization techniques that best suit you, and make sure to practice every day. Keep bringing verses you’ve already memorized to your mind throughout the day, so you don’t forget them (Psalm 119:11).
Those who truly love God will Ask God to Search Their Heart.
It takes courage to do that. We know that there are many things even in a believer’s mind that displease the Lord. Our sins come from them. But sin itself blinds us to our wrong ways. That’s why we need to ask the Lord to:
Search our heart, our inner being (Psalm 139:23).
Show us the things we do that grieves Him (Psalm 139:24).
Help us sanctify our minds and change our ways (Psalm 51:10).
Daily Repentance, are where we Confess Your Sins and Ask for God’s Forgiveness Daily
This is a critical habit that will bring major changes to your life and your relationship with the Lord. So, here are a few things that will help you pursue a heavenly mindset and a holy life:
Think about your day.
Ask God to help you remember the sins you committed and the things that you shouldn’t have done.
Confess them to God.
Ask Him for forgiveness, believing that Jesus has already paid the price at the cross.
Ask Him to help you fight temptation and not fall into those sins again.
Thank God and believe you’re forgiven (Proverbs 28:13; 1 John 1:9).
Make it a daily routine in your life to see what someone is saying is in the scriptures..
The Scriptures already tell us to Flee from Temptation, we can see and hear a false clergy, when the preacher says He has a problem with the ladies, or they are not following the rules God has for the Clergy, such a person will lead you and your children into sin.
During trials, we must persevere. But, when it comes to temptation, we can never overestimate our strength to resist it (Matthew 26:41). We must flee from the situation right away (Genesis 39:11-12; 1 Corinthians 6:18). The more we allow our eyes, ears, and thoughts to be exposed to such things that tempt us, the higher the risk that we may fall. We must protect our minds and not give opportunities for the devil to tempt us (Ephesians 4:26-27).
Truly forgiven people will Create Strategies to Bring their Mind to God Throughout the Daily repentance, as placing their mind on God.
Even saved people need to be intentional to bring God’s Word into your mind during your daily life. Here are some suggestions:
Thank God for every good thing that happens (a good meal, a beautiful sunset, a fast commute, a pleasant conversation, a problem solved, a good idea you had, etc.).
Pray quietly for people you meet.
Use your breaks or waiting time to read a portion of Scripture or talk to God.
Use your imagination and think of other good ways to keep connecting to God at all times.
Saved people who are sanctified can indulge in Earthly Pleasures, as long as they are okay in the eyes of God, but only with what He says is not sinful.
Most sins don’t happen unexpectedly. They begin with little temptations that we give in, thinking that it’s no big deal. But it is. Every sin is a huge deal (Romans 6:23). So, we must learn to resist every temptation that draws us to do something that will feed our earthly urges and bring us self-centered gratification. We need to pursue the will of God and resist any impulse that can lead us to sin (James 1:14-15).
The Flesh is kept under control when we Practice Fasting
When we fast, we give up something we need (usually food) to dedicate time and energy exclusively for the Lord (Matthew 4:4). Whenever you can, take some time to fast, pray, and seek the presence of the Lord. The discipline you learn through fasting will help you control other urges of your body and mind that may lead you to sin (1 Corinthians 9:27).
God say Be Thankful to God
Even during difficult times, we have a lot of reasons to be thankful to God. The Lord has done so much for us; He has shown His great love for us in many ways:
He gave His son to pay for our sins (Romans 5:8).
He forgave us (1 John 1:9).
He adopted us as His own children (John 1:12).
He gave us eternal life with Him (John 3:16).
And much more. We don’t even notice most of the blessings that He gives us every day. So, make sure to take a moment to thank the Lord for all He does for you daily (Psalm 145:9; James 1:17). Be specific and let each reason you mention sink in your mind and lead you to worship the Lord for His kindness.
When God sanctifies our Thinking becomes Intentionally and comes to the front of the human living, that is Qudash Living is then possible.
All humans have a sinful nature. It means that it is natural for us to sin. So, thinking about heavenly things is not natural for us. We need to practice it intentionally. If we let our minds wander freely, most of the thoughts that come to us are usually not heavenly thoughts. So, avoid letting your mind wander without purpose. Feed it with good content. For example, if you’re tired and need to relax, instead of letting your thoughts run freely, put on some good music that helps you think about godly things while you rest.
The Lord working in us makes us Beware of our Pride
Pride is a threat that lives inside every one of us. It tempts us to think that our good works are somehow making us better than other people or that we are worthy of the kindness of God. Don’t let worldly thoughts like that creep into your mind. Do this instead:
Remain humble (James 4:6).
Consider others better than yourself (Philippians 2:3).
Keep in mind that you don’t deserve any favor from the Lord (Ephesians 2:8-9).
Remember that the good things you do also come from the Lord (James 1:17).
Forgiveness lets us Put our Hope in God
When we decide to live our lives for God, we face all sorts of resistance, including from our own earthly nature. We need to do our best to fight temptation and focus our minds on heavenly things. And we need to trust God that He will take care of what’s beyond our reach (Philippians 4:13). Trust Him with your needs, your circumstances, your future (2 Corinthians 4:16-18). Put your hope in Him and Him alone (Romans 15:13).
The apostle Paul gave us a bold challenge. Discipline and intentional actions will help you keep your mind connected to the word of Christ Jesus, who is seated at the right hand of God in the heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6). Set your mind on the things above, and the peace of God will guard your hearts and your minds in the Lord Jesus Christ (Philippians 4:6-9).
There are many godly attitudes one needs to have if a person professes to be a true Christian and this post will look at the godly attitudes that are a must-have for every true Christian.
As Christians, our Lord Jesus Christ expects us to behave and have a certain godly attitude that will differentiate us from ungodly people who are unsaved and are without the life of Christ in them.
Without wasting much of your precious time, let’s quickly dive into a list of godly attitudes you need to have that will prove that you are indeed a true believer.
What Is A Godly Attitude anyone can see in a person that God has sanctified
A godly attitude is simply an attitude one professing the Christian faith displays in their Christian life that reflects the godly character of our Lord Jesus Christ.
It’s also an attitude that reflects the life of Christ in a person that will show a person is indeed a true follower of Jesus Christ (Philippians 2:5-11).
A godly attitude is also based on righteousness and godly principles of the bible that defines the way a godly person carries him or herself in their daily life.
Below is a list of 10 godly attitudes that will differentiate a true Christian from a fake Christian who is yet to be truly saved as is without a life of Christ Jesus in them.
Love.
Humility.
Gentleness.
Kindness.
Forgiveness.
Hospitable.
Generosity.
Praying For Each Other.
Gratitude.
Supportive Of Each Other.
Real agape love that is selfless and puts the needs of others above one’s one is one of the major attitudes that all professing believers need to have. Jesus Christ commands us in John 13:34 in the New Testament that we must love each other as He’s loved us.
Only when we do so will the unbelievers of the world truly know we are indeed true Christians and true followers of Jesus Christ. Our love must be based on actions and not just mere talk, which is what true love is all about.
Sadly, this isn’t the case with many fake professing Christians out there who only think about themselves in the way they treat others. This ought not to be so. Let your love be the reason why another human never gives up on life.
Having a spirit of humility is also another vital godly attitude you need to display to others as it’s one of the vital fruits of the Holy Spirit Galatians 5:22, 23 talks about what will be present in you if you are a true born-again Christian.
This implies that you ought not to think too highly of yourself and think you are better than others. Rather, in humility, you must esteem others better than yourself.
It also means that pride and arrogance must not have a place in your life if you claim to be a true Christian. If you have the humility of Christ in your heart, you won’t exalt yourself or think you are better than others in your actions.
Being gentle to your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ is also a vital godly attitude you need to have in your Christian living if you are a godly person who truly understands what true Christianity is all about (Philippians 4:5).
Implying that you must not be harsh or rude to others even when they do you wrong, especially with your words and actions. You need to learn to speak in brotherly kindness to others and treat others gently as Christ did.
You must not be like the Pharisees of the old who were harsh to others, yet their lives lived much to be desired. If you are gentle in your words and how you treat others, people will open up to you and want to listen to you.
The other godly attitude that you need to have as a true Christian with the Spirit of Christ in you is you need to be kind to others even to people who don’t deserve your kindness.
God’s word tells us in Ephesians 4:32 that as believers we need to show love and kindness to each other which will be proof that we understand what being a true Christian is all about.
You need to understand that God’s love is always accompanied by godly kindness that makes you a pleasant person everyone wants to be around. It’s through your love and kindness that you show to others will many be drawn to Christ via your godly example.
As a professing believer, you also need to show forgiveness to others who have done you wrong, no matter the gravity of the offense done against you.
Jesus Christ tells us in Matthews 6:14 that we must forgive others so that we can be forgiven as well by our Heavenly Father. Implying that, a spirit of unforgiveness and holding grudges must have no room in your life.
If you are a person that harbors, grudges, bitterness, and unforgiveness toward your offenders, then you aren’t a true Christian at all as real Christians don’t harbor unforgiveness as they know none is perfect and we all need grace and forgiveness in our lives.

Being hospitable to others, especially your fellow brothers and sisters in the Lord and faith is another important godly attitude you need to have as a true believer in Christ.
Implying that you must be a person that’s selflessly willing to help those in need. Romans 12:13 tells us that we must pursue hospitality and share with our fellow saints in the Lord who are in need.
We must not be selfish and greedy by thinking only about ourselves as selfishness is not a spirit from God but from the enemy. Learn to embrace the spirit of hospitality and caring for others wherever the chance to do you presents itself to you.
Generosity is also another list of godly attitudes we need to have as believers to others especially those of the same household of faith.
This means that as Christians, we need to learn to share what we have, be it our wealth with others. The apostle Paul tells us in 1 Timothy 6:17 that we are to be rich in doing good deeds to others by being generous and willing to share what we have with others.
By doing so, we are laying up for ourselves great treasures and rewards in heaven in the life to come in eternity when all is said and done with our earthly lives.
We are also told in James 5:16 that as believers, we ought to pray for one another in the Lord as that will show we truly love and care for each other in the brotherhood of Christ.
Praying for each other is crucial as Christians as that will help us remain strong in the Lord and not let Satan take advantage of us by trying to sow seeds of division in the body of Christ.
If many professing believers understood the value of supporting each other in prayer in the family of Christ, all these divisions we see in the body of Christ that Satan is using to make us hate each other wouldn’t be happening at all.
Gratitude to the Lord and the blessings He’s blessed you with in your life is another good attitude you need to practice in your Christian life as a believer even in bad times, not just when things are good.
We are told in 1 Thessalonians 5:16 that we must give thanks to God in all things, especially the good things He’s done in our lives we often take for granted.
Implying that we must not show a negative attitude of ingratitude toward God by murmuring and complaining when life gets hard by forgetting all the good things God has done for us prior like the Israelites did in the old testament via their murmurings.
Last but not least, we are to be supportive of each other in the body of Christ as believers and not allow envy and jealousy to make us want to bring our fellow brothers and sisters in the Lord down.
We need to be there for each other in times of need and learn to lift each other to greater heights. Sadly, this isn’t the case in the church today as many who profess to be believers are the ones who are bringing and tearing others down through their jealousy.
1 Thessalonians 5:11 tells us that we need to encourage each other and build each other up by not allowing jealousy to spring up in our hearts which makes us want to bring others down. Only when we do that will the church be a better place to be.
I hope the above post on 10 lists of godly attitudes every true Christian must have will now help you display godly conduct to others that speak the life of Christ in you.
May prayer is after reading what you have read above be able to practice everything you have read above so that the church can be a better place to be.
In closing, if this post has edified you to be a better Christian, let me know in the comments below, and don’t forget to share before you leave. God bless.
Sharing is caring, Godly Giving to others does have God’s rules of 1 Timothy 5:5-8. Each home has to have a person who will care for it first so that God is pleased with what we do under the all Christian and all New Covenant.
To obey God is the only way that Makes Holy Living Easier.
One of the first benefits of sanctification in the life of every true believer is that it makes it easy for you to live a life of holiness and righteousness that’s free from sin.
God has called us unto sanctification and holiness, which is why Leviticus 20:7, 8 tells us in the old testament that we must sanctify ourselves so that we can be holy and righteous even as He’s holy.
Without sanctification, you will struggle a lot with habitual sins which will explain why you find it hard to give up certain sinful habits in your Christian life that are hindering you from living a holy life that’s completely free from the bondage of sin.
The second benefit of being sanctified as a believer is that it prepares us for every good work to meet for the Master’s use in His kingdom.
2 Timothy 2:21 in the new testament tells us if we cleanse ourselves of what’s dishonorable i.e. sin, we will be vessels unto honor, ready for every good work in the Master’s house.
This is only made possible by sanctification which cleanses our inner man by removing the root of sin that we are naturally born with that makes us dirty and vessels unto dishonor as the Lord Jesus Christ only wants holy vessels cleansed from sin to use in His house.
Another benefit you will notice when you get sanctified is that you will now find it easy to overcome sin and any sinful habits that you used to find a challenge to overcome when you were unsanctified.
This will be so because of the new nature of Christ created in God’s likeness and righteousness Ephesians 4:24 talks about that will now be active in your life as your old nature of sin will now be done away with at sanctification.
So, if you are struggling with certain sinful habits you are finding hard to overcome, it’s a sign that you need sanctification ASAP. All you need to do is pray for God to sanctify your heart today so that you are no longer enslaved by the sin you may be struggling with.
Sanctification also brings about the new nature of Christ Jesus in the life of every genuinely saved believer with a real salvation experience that makes one finds it easy to live a holy life and shun sin.
It’s this new nature found in every sanctified believer we earlier saw in Ephesians 4:24 that will enable you to overcome sin as the old nature of sin that made you a slave to sin is no longer in your life.
If you are finding it hard to live a life of holiness and righteousness, it shows that you need to be sanctified so that this new nature of Christ Jesus that makes one desire righteousness and hate sin is imputed into you. Only then, will you be able to overcome sin.
A saved person does show the Characteristics Of The New Nature Of Christ All True Believers Have this opened to them..
Another important benefit that comes with sanctification is that it will make it easy for you to love God with all your heart, soul, and mind as we are commanded in Deuteronomy 6:4-7 in the Old Testament.
Loving God with all our hearts without any rivals as Christians is the most important commandment God has given us in the Bible, which is naturally hard for us to do due to our sinful self that only wants to please itself.
However, when you get sanctified, you will find it easy to love God the way you ought to as the self that makes you not love God the way you ought to has been taken care of. Explaining why you will find it easy to serve God with all your heart after being sanctified.
Also, when you get sanctified with God’s Holy Spirit in your heart, you will begin to find it easy to selflessly love others with the selfless agape love 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 talks about without any selfish motives or expecting to get something in return.
You need to understand as humans, we are naturally brutally selfish and self-centered creatures which is why we can’t truly love others the way God wants us to if we are not sanctified.
Moreover, if you get sanctified, that selfish nature that naturally makes you self-centered and only loves others if you are benefitting from them is completely removed in your heart so that you can selflessly love others as God’s love is now in your life.
The purity of heart is also another benefit that will come if you get sanctified. Jesus Christ tells us in Matthews 5:8 that only those with a sanctified pure heart free from sin will ever enter heaven and see God in His full glory.
When your heart becomes sanctified, you will notice that you will no longer have those evil desires that made you fulfill the sinful desires of the flesh you once had.
Instead, your heart after being sanctified will now be holy and pure. You now have pure and holy desires that make you want to be holy and righteous as well as hate the sin you once loved when your old Adamic sinful nature was active before sanctification.
You will also have a new life after getting sanctified due to the new birth experience and new nature you will have by the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit that regenerates one from the inside.
In 2 Corinthians 5:17, we are told that anyone who’s in Christ Jesus becomes a new creation and old things have passed away, and all things have become new. Implying that you will no longer live your old life of sin.
Instead, after experiencing sanctification, you will begin to live a new life characterized by holiness and righteousness. No longer will you desire to go back to your old sinful lifestyle since you are a new creation in Christ.
Another benefit of sanctification in the Christian life of every believer is it makes obedience to God’s word easier with His imputed grace in us.
Naturally, our sinful self and the flesh hate to submit to God’s word as God’s word is against everything our sinful self desires to do. It’s why we find obeying God’s word hard if we are unsanctified.
On the other hand, if you get sanctified, obeying God’s word in totality, not partially will become much easier for you to do and His word won’t be grievous for you to do as 1 John 5:3 tells us since our natural sinful self has been put to death by the sanctification of the heart.
Last but not least, the last vital benefit of sanctification is it will make you heaven-ready in the sense that you will find it much easier to live a consistent life that’s above sin if you are sanctified.
If you are not sanctified, however, you will find it hard to live a consistently holy life, which is why you will find yourself rising and falling all the time in the same sins as your Adamic sinful nature that makes you prone to sin has not yet been dealt with.
Hebrews 12:14 tells us that without holiness, none will see the Lord. So, if you want to be heaven-ready all the time, be sanctified if you are not yet sanctified. Doing so will make you heaven-ready as you will find it easy to be consistently holy in your Christian life.
Jesus makes us more than what we were and makes us more than where we have come from, more than what we have done, more than what others think of us, more than what someone has done to us, take all that you are to Jesus. Email me anytime with your Request, [email protected] your brother in the Lord.

I am voting for the real Conservative in the race, Ron DeSantis! Do you think that Bud Light, Target, Cracker Barrel, and Chik-fil-A would be having those commercial problems if Ron DeSantis were the President of the United States of America right now? I don't think so! If ALL of America were like Florida, it really would be great again!
People are sick and tired of having rainbow flags flapping in their faces every day. And that is not people being hateful. That is just people simply being fed up with other people trying to force their views onto them that don't align with their Biblical Christian beliefs.
A man in lipstick and a dress is still a man. Every real transgender person is offended by companies hiring fake transgender people to represent them anyway.

Hazard Topix/Craigslist replacement » Re: Hypocrite Pretend Christian Closet Druggies
I can see this topic from the views of both comments above this one. You can "not judge" someone while also "not enabling" their bad habits. The sad thing about drug addiction in Eastern Kentucky is that it seems like most drug addicts here are coddled unconditionally, told that nothing is ever their fault, and never told to take responsibility for their own actions that keep them in active addiction or continue to cause them to relapse. This ignorance persists all while the drug addicted adults are circling the drain every day, continuing to lose people, things, opportunities, well-being, shelter, etc., and also ruining their friends and family's lives in the process. It's one thing if you are harming yourself with your drug addiction, but it's a whole other thing if you are losing custody of your kids, leeching off other people because you lost all your income and benefit sources, robbing people, negatively impacting tax payers' whose money goes into funding certain programs, constantly worrying your loved ones who stay sick with fear that you will overdose any minute, etc. So, yeah, you don't have to sit on your high horse, verbally trash someone who is addicted to drugs, and make them feel like scummy sewer matter, but you don't have to make them feel like they are just fine and dandy either. You aren't helping anyone by making them feel like every mistake that they have ever knowingly and willingly made is okay and that they shouldn't try to learn from those mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes. No one is perfect. But some of us don't actively TRY to stay dependent on drugs and be a burden on society and all our loved ones either. I know so many people within the last ten years who overdosed on drugs and either died or their minds were so messed up ever since that they need guardians to help them handle even the simplest task, which leaves them very vulnerable to being taken advantage of (research Britney Spears' life and times if you ever want to know how the system and someone's own family, friends, and so-called "helpers" can seriously wreck an innocent, vulnerable human being's life). All the head petting, back patting, and enabling encouragement didn't save the deceased ones' lives or make the survivors' lives any better. You can't make a drug addict change. THEY have to decide to change for THEMSELVES and whomever they love and want to stop hurting. I have lost four relatives and more than thirty friends to drugs addiction. And drug addiction certainly doesn't discriminate either. One of my former bosses who had two master's degrees and a loving, caring, supportive family died from drug addiction. He was battling personal demons and life problems that most people didn't know about. Believe me when I say that it NEVER gets any easier with each loved one that I lose to this sickening epidemic of drug addiction!

And, yes, I meant to put a question mark after that question in my last comment, but I'm in Hazard right now with my spouse to visit their family this week, and the internet connection here is ridiculously awful! I had to hurry and post my comment while the internet popped back on. I got aggravated and forgot to proofread it before I posted it. Forgive me, dear readers, if that caused you any stress.
North Corbin Topix/Craigslist replacement » Re: Corbin mayor
No. We don't need any higher taxes. Thank you very much. And the mayor is doing just fine. Corbin isn't doing so bad either. If you want to see a little city with problems, just take a good, hard look at Hazard, my spouse's hometown, slightly over to the east. The mayor there is also a good man, but he and a handful of other hard-working, well-meaning politicians in that city can't just wave a magic wand and immediately make everything better there, especially when so many business owners there are so worried about competition coming to town, and a large number of the population there is severely addicted to hard drugs and don't want to live any other way. Do you realize that it takes more than five or six people to really improve a city. It takes an array of people who are all on the same page to start bringing in more jobs and different industries, fixing road and pipe issues, and expanding educational, transit, and recreational options to result in accomplishing major positive changes in a city. It takes a village to keep a village's amenities running effectively and efficiently. Everybody in Corbin and every other city in Southern Kentucky should be pitching in to do their part to help their city, instead of just sitting back on their lazy, high rear ends, complaining, and expecting politicians to solve all of their problems overnight.

They are going to Central Kentucky and other states, such as Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. The first poster on here was telling the truth. People are fleeing from Southeastern Kentucky counties like their lives depend on it because many of them feel like it does! I grew up in Breathitt County but my husband and I are moving to Somerset, Kentucky next month. His younger brother just left Breathitt County in March and moved to South Carolina. My younger sister is leaving Breathitt County in July to move to Middle Tennessee. People, especially young adults, are getting the heck away from this living nightmare of a county asap!!!

Hazard Topix/Craigslist replacement » Re: Is It True That Trader Joe's Is Coming To Hazard?
I know what you mean. I was born and raised in Hazard, Kentucky, but I live in Tennessee, close to Nashville, most of the time now. I believe that I would be prescribed a handful of antidepressants by therapists if I lived in Hazard or any other part of Eastern Kentucky most of the time. I do not take any medication for depression, anxiety, or nervousness, and I do not need to. I used to be very depressed and anxious as a teenager growing up in Hazard in the 2000s, but I am not depressed or anxious anymore, and I am very happy with my life as it is right now. All that I needed to do to get well was to get the hell out of Eastern Kentucky and away from my crazy, nosy, lying, thieving, drug-addicted family most of the year. Maybe that is what most of the depressed people in Eastern Kentucky need to do as well.
I just realized that I accidentally posted a typing error in my previous comment on this topic. I meant to say that Nashville, Tennessee is one of the fastest growing cities in the "country", not the county, as I previously stated by accident.

Prestonsburg Topix/Craigslist replacement » Re: Clarence Brown
I grew up in Southeastern Kentucky, mostly Floyd County, and I have traveled all over the country. I can honestly say that Southeastern Kentucky is one of the most problematic and sad places that I have ever seen in my life. From poverty to mental illness to drug abuse to the lack of basic amenities, such as reliable transit options and programs that actually help better clients' lives instead of just simply providing a paycheck for weary social workers and lazy case managers, Southeastern Kentucky feels like a cesspool of despair. I got out of Floyd County, Kentucky right after graduating from an online college with an associate degree, went to another state to obtain a bachelor's degree, and I never looked back! I have even helped numerous relatives and friends of mine to escape that depressing place recently, and they all have went on to other places to have a better life. I'm not even very religious, but for that, I sincerely praise JESUS!
Prestonsburg Topix/Craigslist replacement » Re: Clarence Brown
Who said that it didn't "matter? " I don't see that remark in any of the comments on this topic. I don't even know the man in the picture either. I'm just bored and nosy this morning. Since I'm here though, here is my say about addiction... If someone stays away from drug addicts and troublemakers, they will have a much happier life, more than likely, unless they just really love drama and stupidity, then in that case, they may be miserable without drug addicts and troublemakers in their life. That doesn't seem to be too difficult for people with common sense to figure out though.
Hazard Topix/Craigslist replacement » Re: Is It True That Trader Joe's Is Coming To Hazard?
The Trader Joe's distribution and food assembly center that is supposed to bring approximately 890 new jobs to Kentucky is going to Franklin, Kentucky, not Hazard, Kentucky. Franklin, Kentucky is close to Nashville, Tennessee, which is one of the fastest growing cities in the county right now, so yeah, Eastern Kentucky loses out again.
